Description
INTRODUCTORY MICROBIOLOGY
Presents an overview of the morphology, metabolism, cultivation and control of bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms with emphasis on public health aspects. Applied topics will include bioterrorism, epidemiology, food safety, immunology and infectious diseases. Not applicable to majors or minors in biology or health sciences. Three hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week. This course earns three GEPs toward Goal 5 Natural Sciences in general education. Prerequisites: None.
