Description
MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY
Studies microorganism and acellular entities capable of causing disease in humans. The course emphasizes epidemiology, laboratory diagnosis, principles of pathogenesis, treatment, and prevention. This is an elective course for Biology and Health Sciences majors. Prerequisites: BIOLOGY 242 (Microbiology) and BIOLOGY 271 (Cell Biology). Two hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory/discussion per week. Laboratory hours may vary. Not offered every semester.
