Description
MICRO & MOLEC GENET
Studies macromolecules, macromolecular complexes, protein synthesis and gene regulation using viruses, bacteria and lower eukaryotes. Topics include DNA/chromosome structure, genetic recombination, plasmids, transposons, recombinant DNA and genetic analysis. The course is an elective course for graduate students in biology and is presented as a series of lectures, discussions, presentations, and laboratory experiments. Not offered every semester. Prerequisite: Admission to the M.S. program in biology. Three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory per week. The laboratory hours will vary. Prerequisites: Admission to the M.S. or M.Ed. Program in Biology, or permission of instructor.
