Description
ELECTRICAL MACHINES AND POWER SYSTEMS
Explores fundamentals of electrical machines, transformers and power systems. Main topics include three-phase circuits, single-phase and three-phase transformers, synchronous generators and motors, three-phase induction motors, single-phase motors, DC generators and motors, stepper motors, electronic control of motors, and electric utility power generation, transmission, and distribution. Three hours lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisites: ENGTECH 141 - Circuit Analysis or consent of the instructor.
