READING YOUR WORLD
Prepares students to become active and confident learners who will acquire college-level literacy and critical thinking skills. Challenges students to establish an appreciation for reading for knowledge and enjoyment and develop skills, habits and attitudes that will result in more effective reading and studying. Strengthens comprehension, language, and vocabulary skills using prior learning and experience as a foundation. Students will explore how literacy practices in reading transfer to problem solving in everyday life. Writing is integrated throughout the course. This course is designed to prepare students to more effectively complete ENRICH 120. Students who have successfully completed ENRICH 120 are not eligible for this class. Prerequisites: None.
