Description
FOUNDATIONS OF ALGEBRA
A college level course designed to sharpen students' algebraic skills, strengthen analytical thinking and provide preparation for more advanced study in mathematics and related fields. Topics include linear equations and inequalities, laws of exponents, polynomials and factoring, rational expressions and equations, radical expressions and equations, solving quadratic equations, logarithms, and graphing linear and nonlinear equations with shifts, reflections, and translations. 1-2 math lab hours may be required weekly. Course is not open to students who have successfully completed College Algebra (MATH 109) or above. Course carries 3 elective credits towards graduation.
